A Place at the Table: Day 1

First challenge of the day.  For breakfast, I had to choose whether to eat or to have coffee.  I chose coffee. So far I’ve been okay.  Lunch is in half an hour.  Food will taste good.  But there’s not much in my lunch bag today.  I’ll have to wait and see if it gives me a boost or merely awakens my appetite.  Later today I plan to go shopping to see what I can purchase with the food allowance I have for the remainder of this week.  Hopefully the food or coffee choice won’t become a daily decision – but it might.  “Give me this day my daily bread” is already starting to take on new weight as a prayer.
